I have also posted this on ebay where I have a 100% feedback, but I have set the postage at £10 to discourage bidders.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MU120-Open-Mathem ... dZViewItemBecause of a mix up with postage I received three packages of the MU120 Open Mathematics preparatory materials. I was told by OU dispatch not to return the 2 spare ones and I am free to do as I like with them. Would be a shame for them to go to waste so I will give them to another prospective student for free, only the postage costs would be required. (I would expect postage to be about £3-£4 maximum) If you are interested in one of these just log in and send me a private message for more details.
The prep resource pack is invaluable before starting the course proper. If you register for the course then you will receive the prep pack anyway, but if you are thinking of taking the course then have a look at this to see if it's for you.
I would prefer to give these resource packs to others who will do the same when they are finished with them. Offer them to someone else for free by posting a message here at OUforum.com and not selling them on Ebay for profit
Each preparatory resource pack contains the following
- Unit 0 Preparing for Open Mathematics
- Tapping into Mathematics with the TI-83 Graphics Calculator* (This is an extract which contains chapter one of the textbook)
(*The TI-83 Graphics calculator is an essential part of the course, but they are quite expensive, so I will tell you how to get a free virtual one at the bottom of this post)
-Preparatory Resource Book A (modules 1-4)
-Preparatory Resource Book B (modules 5-7)
- Preparatory Readings
- Course Guide
- MU120 Diagnostic Quiz
- MU120 Diagnostic Quiz Solutions
- MU120 Activity Sheets for the Preparatory Pack (contains a dozen coloured activity sheets)
- Online applications CD ROM Version 8
- Audio CDA5507 for Unit 0
- Study Calendar
- TMA and CMA forms (only needed when doing the full course)
*Please see this post for more information on the virtual TI-83 calculator
